12Deshotel, Seitz to be auxiliary bishops for Diocese of Dallas

There’s a press conference later this morning, but the news is in that Pope Benedict XVI has chosen two priests of the Diocese of Dallas to serve as auxiliary, or assistant, bishops in the diocese. The appointments of the Rev. J. Douglas Deshotel and Monsignor Mark J. Seitz were announced today in Washington, D.C. by the papal nuncio to the United States, Archbishop Pietro Sambi.

Germany’s state broadcaster is locked in a row with the Church of Scientology which wants to block an upcoming feature film that depicts the controversial organisation as totalitarian and unethical.
