Note: I’m reposting the following from the Legal History Blog; it gives you links to a lecture by noted legal/religious historian Sarah Gordon, of Penn Law School, and author of an important new book on the social history of religion and the law since WW II: The Spirit of the Law: Religious Voices and the Constitution in Modern America (Harvard U. Press). More soon on this book as I plan to read it as soon as I can. A more extensive review, which discusses the contents of the book in some detail, may be found here.
